Angelina Jolie rushed to the doctor

Angelina Jolie was rushed to the doctor after an ankle injury caused her legs to swell. Jolie, who is reputedly 6 months pregnant with twins, was in Texas filming the adventure film Tree of Life at the time of the injury, so decided to fly home to LA to have it checked out by her own physician.

“At first she thought it was just a twisted ankle or something,” an insider tells Life and Style magazine. “But everyone was worried because of the pregnancy and previous problems she’s had with leg swelling.
“Angelina didn’t want to take any chances, and everyone agreed. Brad was really worried.”

But a couple of hours into their flight to Burbank, Calif., on April 17, Jolie’s injury turned into something even more serious, and the pain began to worsen. “Her legs were swelling,” adds the insider, “and she was getting really wobbly and starting to feel sick.”
The pain then grew so severe Brad and Angelina considered making an emergency landing in their private Gulfstream jet. “Angelina’s medical team had advised her to head to the nearest medical facility if the situation got worse,” said the insider.

But the ‘Tomb Raider’ star insisted they continue on to LA so she could see her own doctor. Shortly after 3 p.m., the jet landed at Burbank airport, where a fleet of blacked-out SUVs were waiting, along with Angie’s physician.
The Jolie-Pitts were rushed to their home in Los Feliz, where a team of nurses was also waiting for them.

Now several news reports claim that the lanky actress is carrying fraternal twins, and the weight of this pregnancy is causing some real health issues for the star.
Jolie, who is a prolific world-traveler, has reportedly contracted a type of diabetes, reports UK tabloid The Sun.

She is also suffering swelling of the ankles, feet and legs, and like many pregnant women has been forced to wear a larger shoe size. Reports of her last plane trip were that the star was feeling ill during the flight.
A Sun source revealed: "She has gestational diabetes." "She found out about a month ago. "She's been seeing a nutritionist about it frequently." The condition is treated with diet, bedrest and mild to moderate exercise.
